As some of you know, one of the major passions in my life is Middle Eastern dance. Well, back before I had anything to do with the BDSM community (I had fantasies, but hadn't really put a name to them), I used to spend a lot of time on eBay looking for tribal jewelry for dancing because, well, I lived at home and had disposable income.
One thing that came up a lot in item descriptions for Afghani tribal jewelry was KAJIRA -- GOR. At the time I always assumed that those were the names of tribes. Now, of course, I know better. What I can't figure out, though, is what the jewelry has to do with the Gorean community. Gor is not my thing (no offense to the people who *are* into it, but for me D/s has very little to do with gender), so I haven't read enough on the subject to make a connection, but when it recently occured to me where I'd heard that word before, I got pretty curious. Anyone care to educate me?
