FF's poll about story content got me thinking.

I visited a site quite a while back that specialises in short stories, average about 10 to 15 MS word pages I'd guess, nothing much bigger but nothing too short to be worth the effort.

Almost all stories being in the category of extreme, that is violent and gory stuff, rape, torture, heavy punishment, wild gang bang's, etc.

The thing is none of it was one hand tackle written by 18 y old wankers in a wild child like manner as you'd expect of such short and extreme stuff.
The site managers appeared to be very strict on grammar/spelling and layout if not the social acceptabilty of the content.

How do you all feel about that kind of quicky extreme stuff.

Me? I'm not really an extreme expert in my writings and I find it difficult to keep stories short, I ramble too much sometimes.
But I found the short format got the sheer horror of such events across much better and with more shock value than if it had dragged on for much longer.

No sooner had you started reading the story, it was all over, the victim was a boodied mess or whatever and it left you thinking about the events as real, rather than just thinking of it as another tale of fiction.

I find extreme and serious format boring after a while if it gets repetitive as it can do in a long drawn out tale.

Any thoughts folks??

Who knows I might even drop my aversion to such things and try to write a short extreme blood lust thing one day, God knows how, I've not done much heavy play in real life to find the inspiration.
