Sleep well my angel

Let your journey be swift & safe
Your china skin, silky to touch
And your butterfly lips that tempt so sweetly
Offering one last taste of your soul

I gaze upon his face
Tears within his smile
My breathless voice
Not a whispered sound
I yearn to feel his touch
Crave one last kiss

Pain subsiding, her life now undone
Her soul departing, its voyage begun
Chilled to my core, my feelings numb

Silence whispers to me
As the void devours my light
Rending apart our reality
I feel it fall from my grasp
Pictured the fractured shards
Felt the whispered truth
And I fear it not

She slips from me as a ship to sea
The last breath exhaled, her face beset with calm
Beauty enhanced and troubled no more
Tranquil, she captivates me to the last
Resting now with the wonder of those passed
