I wanted to make sure you all know that I do appreciate Rabbit's efforts here. I do underderstand his want to wait for the interest be there before putting in the codes. If he wants proof of the interest, I am willing to go out there and show that there is interest. I'm not doing this to divide the Library, far from it...but to bring us together as a community and get our work read. I agree with d2p....poetry section would enhance this site. So lets just settle down and get the votes. I'm not being hostile, but being passionate about all the work that my fellow writers put into their writings. So, let's not go overboard and just get votes....

My suggestion is that you add codes for erotic and non-erotic poetry. The assumption being that anything else is a story, (i.e., prose.) Any other existing codes will suffice if the poet wants to annotate the contents of the poem.

This will work until you get someone writing long stories in poetic formats ala The Bard or Homer.

"No, I don't care for Poetry"

So what. I don't care for snuff. Or rape. Or stories involving 13 year olds. Doesn't mean it doesn't belong in the library.

And on the "library is for strories" thing: Since when is poetry not a form of storytelling?

Ok Timberwolf..I know you are as impassioned about this as I am. But right now, it seems that we're just going round and round. So far, it's only been a week since I posted this poll. We have 3 more...45 definites already.....all we need is 55 more...I'm excited. just think...if we have interest in this with the poll only be here for a week...what will another 3 bring in. Right now, we all are working on getting this off the ground...Let's just work toward that goal.

Agreed on that. And hey I'm not looking to stir any trouble. I have no issue with anyone personally (that I've been made aware of). But at the same time I think the quesiton "Since when is poetry not a form of storytelling?" is a legitimate one that's worth asking, and pointing out for anyone who might be sitting on the fence.

Thats right I agree ---and it puts it in a class by it self ---and that is the issue at hand ---I am not against this ---I am only looking to make sure it is worth my time and effort to do it ---

Really Rabbit...look at the poll..in one week we've gotten 49 votes. That's 60% of the members would like to see poetry. That alone should show there is enough interest. With the traffic to the main page...hell yeah there would be more interest..more so then here at the forums where less traffic comes.

Grrrrrrr! And more positive votes came in too! Still there are close to 60% who would like to see poetry! But we'll still give this it's run...but I'm telling you after the way the vote is going over half the forum visitors are interested in this. I believe, at least, over 70% would be interested of those that only visit the main page.

sorry love ---but I just wanted you to see for your self ----see I know about it already ---this shares equal space on the main board with stories on Blue Stories forum ---and there just is not much intrest in it as there are the stories. but cheer up you do have your own forum for it --which is more that was was here to begin with --Remember this all began with a sticky thread --and you have great friends who tried to help you out ---and we have some good poets here too

Really they would have gotten burried under the massive stories we have anyway ----the way the front page is published ---
