Hi Couture,
- First off, how do you respond to a bad review? There's not going to be much of a connection. What is the author to say? Thank you, I'm so glad you hated my story.
Well you don’t. You don’t give a ‘bad’ review in the first place. There are many different ways of saying the same thing. ‘Your story stinks!” or ‘Your story could be improved by trying xyz.” ?
- Unless the reviewer is unclear about something and asks the author a question in the review, there's just not much to say about it. And likewise, for the 'Please write more!' reviews. Again, not much to say to that.
How about, ‘thanks’?
- Maybe that's one of the shortcomings of reviews. From the author's point of view, they are difficult to respond to. It's rare that I do. And then I don't even know if the reviewer is going back to look at their reviews.
Yes, I wonder about that myself.
- Come to think of it, I've never had a reviewer respond to a review that I've responded to. Why's that?
I've seen a couple, they were both from people who disagreed with the reviewer's comments.
Curtis,
I hope so, I do that myself.
