I Miss You
Alone with my thoughts, my mind drifting
Gamely wandering across distant plains,
Over hills and through mountain passes
Like the whispering breeze, I roam
Contended, summers sun upon my face
The shadows in my heart but a memory
Eyes closed your face I see, your form I sense
I am calmed as heart bursting joy consumes
Mists swirling, spirit felt, your soul engulfs me
Darkness descending, I taste the light fading
Clouds parting, in despair my memory returns
My spirit sinking, weighted down as by lead
Through tear-laden eyes, the past I treasure
Your cherry red lips and butterfly kisses no more
You feather light touch upon my cheek I recall
Seeing you fade, your flame flicker then fail
My life fractured, shattered shards abound
Emotions now dreams, in my waking sleep
All reason for being lost, my journey ongoing
Faithless, and homeless
Alone
My thoughts and I
