I really hate when people use "secret" little words that have been created especially for the cyber world. Some of them are easy to learn, like LoL or Rofl etc. but at some point I really have to say enough is enough!
Now of course these little darlings save time typing, but I really get p'ed off when taking the time to write say 30 words to convey a message and after waiting for 2 minutes, you get a *LoL* or some other dumbass excuse for a reply. I mean really, are we just going to start communicating like that all the time now? will a online-sub just start sending "ibabgpsm" in stead of "i've been a bad girl please spank me"? Yikes, I hope not... what if that spills over into the real world... granted, meetings at work would be more efficient if I can simply go *LMAO* and raise a picture of a smiley puking his guts out.
Regarding time saved during typing... its a bit one sided... the time saved typing on one end is spent trying to figure out what the little three letter bastard actually means, and for that matter how its relevant to the conversation I'm trying to have.

OMGTDGLTE!! (O My God That Did Get Longer Than Expected)

I hate it more than that when people say 'u' instead of 'you' or 'r' instead of 'are'...seriously, it takes a half a second to type out a whole word...why not? am I not worthy of it? It's not just those simple words, I hate when people use abbreviations or try to shorten up words...nobody can be that lazy, and it pretty much tells me I'm not worth typing out the whole word for you know?
