only word that came to mind when viewing those nasty little shoes: ouch
glad im not a ballarina![]()
Mmm...no, what I'm looking for is heel-less. Its designed to be worn to bed for to maintain the foot's arch during sleep. It has a firm arch and stiffeners, typically metal, which hold it to the leg, but otherwise the body is soft. It is not meant to walk around in. I set my avitar to a pic that supposed to be what I'm looking for, but its not very good....

Apparently if you do wear high heels a lot you can feel uncomfortable tension in your calves on standing flat as these muscles are not stretched because of the heels. I assume when you see women in high heels flexing their ankle forward when they are sitting, it's to relieve the discomfort but is actually also stretching those muscles too.
If you wanted to stimulate the calf contraction you'd need to have a brace or splint that prevented forward flexion at the ankle, so that would have to be secured on the front of the foot/shin.
testarossa - I'd be extremely interested in hearing if you do get one of these things or if you are thinking of training your feet in this way.

If you want something that will do sort of the same thing but not be so expensive or so extreme, there's this. It's called the Pro-Arch. www.discountdance.com, click on 'gifts and accessories', page 3.
(Tried to post a link, but it didn't work.)

Also in more than one story that I have read on the bdsmlybrary with the story code body mod. They talk about shortening the tendons. So the victim connot stand flat footed. But must stay on the balls/toes of there feet.
I asume that this is fiction. Call me gulible but is there any operation to make standing on high heals more comfortible?
