You've brought up some very important things to consider.

Like many of the others, this type of device would be too scary for me. Reminds me of the whole Vlad Dracula thing - not in a good way. The stories that I've read, don't have enough concern for the safety issues. Like putting a lady on one of these things, gagged, then walking away. eek!
