    One thing leads to another

It's been a while this I've posted on this site. First off, let me thank everyone for helping me out with this thread: http://www.bdsmlibrary.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2109

Thinking about what she wanted, and a few other things lead to a major breakthrough for me. A rather long story where lots is implied, but never discussed.

Basically a story set about 1,200 in the future that differs widely from own. Overpopulation lead to environmental distress which is turn lead to nuclear war. The surviviors made it through the Nuclear winter that followed. But society changed drastically.

Here's the prolog (or the first draft of it anyway - don't worry about grammer or spelling. I'll correct it in later drafts):

Jenna loved to hear the elders tell the stories. The stories of the before time, when people to numerous to count moved across the land. The stories told about how they destoried the very land, water and air they needed to live, and how they resulted in warring with others to obtain the resourses need to survive. To fufill their selfish desires.

The cites of the East and West turned to flame and the ground became sick. Even today people became ill if they traveled to close to the ancient burned ground.

After the burning came the long dark time when those who survived were forced to sacrifice. In times of great shortage it was decided that in order for the community to survive a lottery would be held. No one was exempt. So the Culling entered their lives.

Jenna knew that even today, with food being plentiful that the culling continued to make sure that the sacrifices of the old ones during the long dark winter would not be in vain.

    She loved the old stories.

One guess where this is going.

    Does this sound reasonable?

I think it definitely has potential. I was able to "suspend reality", and want to hear more. So you'd have at least 1 interested reader!

I agree with mythicat; definitely potential here.

But, dude! Ignore that spelling? How can I? Even as a sample, it repeatedly jerks me out of the story and back onto the screen.

What are you thinking in terms of story codes? Sounds like snuff (and maybe cannibalism) to me.
