Hiya! I have both nipples, outer labia and my hood all pierced (and each of them stretched at least one gauge/step since the initial piercing). Absolutely find a very reputable piercer in your area. If you search on the http://www.bmezine.com/ website you'll find lots of stories, FAQ's and info, including references to good studios. Needles should be single-use and sterile-sealed before starting. Instruments should be sterilized and the piercer should be double-gloved.
For healing, the current popular method is sea-salt soaks to speed healing and soften the inevitable "crusties" (dried lymph fluid) that will seep out. Basically you should leave 'em alone as much as possible for the first few weeks. I was instructed to turn my barbells and wiggled them gently ONLY in the shower under running water for the first two weeks. NO touching otherwise. Diluted lavender or tea tree oil can be used to prevent infection, as well as a good medical-quality antibacterial soap like Provon. Absolutely NO ALCOHOL. Alcohol dries and irritates the skin and will burn like hell. (Which might be fun later, but not when you're trying to heal a fresh piercing.)
Hope this helps!
