I've done some, not a lot, but i was always under the impression that each character drives his or her own action within the story, for example:

CharacterA writes, "I trail my finger down your spine."
CharacterB writes, "I tremble at your touch".

But I keep running into people who write things like "I trail my finger down your spine, and you tremble at my touch." Not just an isolated slip, but repeatedly. Where's the give and take in that?

Some go even farther, not just appropriating the response, but driving all the action, stating that my character has done something that, well, she hasn't, and wouldn't!

This sort of thing makes me feel like i'm not part of the process, and i lose interest. Am i being picky? unrealistic?

Believe it or not I actually share your rant. You'd never tell it by my writing. I find Last Word chain much more satisfying than my rpg stories.
I like writing one liners that express my action and feelings and seeing what can be built off that action or feeling. It's how Hawk and I met.
Now I don't want anyone to think I don't enjoy my rpg's I just like Last Word Chain better.
To play real rpg I think you have to have time on, at the same time or you will find yourself with a choppy unsatisfying story.
So I don't think it's unrealistic if you have a partner with the same schedule.
