i accidentally touched my soldering iron at the tip when it was already unplugged. this was ten years ago and i still got the scars, my nail hasn't grown straight since as the finger was burned 3rd degree just below the nail, the skin was gone straight away so it infected quite a bit, all that dead tissue and stuff, it didn't grow at all for months, the other two were just blisters but it hurt like hell and it hurt for days. as it was already switched off i guess the temperature to about 200°C to max 300°C as the tin hardly melted anymore but i can't see a soldering iron as a toy. i rather it isn't a toy at all, it's a tool.
