    New Tattoo Question!

    So. Question.

I'm about to get a tattoo on my back and I am curious if a whipping in say a week will do any damage. Or, if I should cover it up. Or, if it will just affect my skin's sensitivity. Can anyone shed some light on the new tattoo / whipping dynamic?

    Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't. Your tattoo won't be fully healed in a week, mine never are anyway. You'll likely still have scabbing and your skin will still be sensitive, you're not even supposed to scratch when it itches. You could possibly cause scarring and destroy the art.

On second thought....even after the tattoo is healed, I have a tendency to think whipping may damage it, but maybe someone with experience in that area will know better than I.

After its healed fully it all depends on how hard and in which manner one is whipped and by what.

Break the skin or bruise over the tattooed area too deeply...and most likely your going to have messed it up.

Give it lots of time to heal, or yes, there could be damage to the tat. I'd say a couple weeks anyways, lass- at least with cover over the tat if you still want to go for it during the 1st week. It will Definitely be more sensitive, for the first while- but you could blur the lines if there are any tears to the skin from the whip.

Thank you to everyone for the advice. I'll keep it covered just in case....
