As my soul searches so my yearning deepens,
The pain intensifies like rusted steel through my being
This hunger ravages to my core, decaying from within

Compulsive, Morphine screams to dull the pain
As addictive, desires pull strings of needs
Looking for what I have not found, restless ever on.
Faceless and formless, my quarry eludes me,
Never seen though often felt, as quicksilver,
Its reality slips through my grasping clutch.
Elusive it evades me, taunting me to chase,

I know not what I search for,

Only that,

In desperation




I seek.

In fevers pitch
when mercury rises
fire to my blood......
