    Venting Irritation

I recently commented to an author that I believed her story concept to be plagurized. In response, I was told to shove it up my ass. Not the most polite response.

Further reading of her responses to other critisisms found similarly unpleasant responses. It seems that this author does not respond well to her work being critiqued and has a tendency to belittle those who have the audacity to critisize her work. Frankly, her churlish responses to her critics made me want to retaliate. I refrained, of course. Just the same, I felt a need to vent a bit - thus a thread was born.

    Okay, I'm done.

No kidding. I read what you are talking about and the author certainly needs to learn to take criticism better than that. I applaud your restraint.

So, I guess you understand my want to vent here. Especially if you read all of her sad comments to anyone who dared comment in a less than glowing manner.

I too read the comments and understand your need to vent ---Hope other authors take critisisms better than this. the whole point is to help make us better writers ---of course some may not want to get any better---two thumbs up H Dean---for your restrain---loosing your cool would not have solved anything

ROFL!! I saw that comment! (Shove it up your ass!) Although it was downright rude, (and funny,) anyone who reads reviews before they read the story will get the picture.

    Rejoice! She felt the poke!

Oh the things that went through my head when I read her comments. Then again, I might have reacted badly if I was caught plagurizing a story idea. The funny thing is, even though she said she didn't steal the idea from Robert Adams she did admit to stealing it from someone else.

    Hilariously stupid!

I wonder how long it will be before some anonymous first time reviewer pans my latest story. Shall we start a pool?

It is funny an obvious when they do that ---you can tell when someone has a axe to grind---Personally I pay little attention when it is not constructive critisisms that I read about any story.

ARGHH! She continues posting shit. I want to review it but I don't want to seem retaliatory. And it would be semi-retaliation. An honest review, though.

I'm just sounding off because she irritated me. This is a whole lot better than taking it out on the review section. Wouldn't you agree?

Call it bitching for bitching's sake.

I saw that! The first thought that popped into my head was OMG!! ROLF!!!

But, I have to admit, she is determined to be heard and read, no matter what. It is a relentless trait, and for some reason, I admire that.

The worst thing that can happen, is that after awhile, there will be fewer reviewers willing to read her stuff, for obvious reasons. What's left? And how will that make her feel? : "Silence is golden." We've said our piece.
