    Wink Duck Tape

I have a whole book (vanilla) on the uses for this household wonder. I love it. I'm the "handyman" around the house and it fixes just about anything. I use it for theater work all the time. It's even got a nice smell.

I have never had the pleasure of using it in a "scene".

I had one bad experience where a dear person in my life got duck taped to a chair and was completely freaking out. In my rush to relieve him of his anxiety I tore the tape off as quickly as possible (the old band-aid philosophy). I don't think that was the best thing to do. yikes

    Experiences? Bad? Good? Fantastic?

    Vanilla or bdsm.....

    The best use of it?
    The most fun?
    The most creative?
    The most sexy?
    The best household repair ever?
The (fill in the blank with whatever)?

Don't know if I'd ever use it in a scene--it's just too good at sticking.

Creative use: My sister has smallish breasts and kept falling out of her strapless prom dress. My Dad came up with the idea of duct taping her into the top of the dress--it worked but she wasn't a happy camper when it came to taking it off (which might have also been his idea--lol).

That's why i hesitate. but what if it was just used as bondage over clothes? nah...leave a sticky residue, probably.

ouch. Was Dad punishing her for not taking his advice and wearing a dress with straps instead? Maybe a "you made your bed" situation?

No, he wouldn't see duct tape as a punishment as it is a primary tool in his toolbox. I think he was more worried about her boyfriend getting the dress off of her.

And it did leave a sticky residue on the inside of the dress.

I don't like it. If you put it on skin, it's really ouch to tear it off again...bad ouch, and no matter if you do it quickly or slowly. I also have rather sensitive skin, so it's irritating like hell and leaves a rash if I'm very, very lucky. The other thing I don't like about it is that duck tape has a tendency to hide where it begins...so if he was sloppy with it, he came with scissors -- and that's just scissors too close to my skin to leave me comfortable. To be honest it freaked me out -- not because he cut me, he was very, very careful...but after that no, thanks.

Now he had a weak spot for duck tape apparently. So we tried using it above the clothes...I didn't really like that either, mostly because it got so hot and sweaty inside. In my case there wasn't a sticky residue, but it left a rough spot on the pullover I was wearing (some polyesther mixture, so nothing fancy). I assume it works well with cotton or such materials, though.

Other than that I'm afraid I never used duck tape for anything creative. But well, that's maybe because I'm not a fan

I've used the less expensive ..read that $1 take.. about as sticky as masking tape. lol

the problem with duct tape isnt the Ouch when it comes off but the adhesive some are alergic once they sweat and it begins to get into the skin.
Duct tape can be a quick expedient restraint.

Some have the mummy wrap fetish and like duct tape for that I've noticed.
Never done it with duct tape so I have no personal experience on it.

Duck Tape is a wonderful invention, and not designed to be removed. I have found the best way to deal with the situation of removing Duck Tape, usually when it is old, worn, and dirty is to simply apply another layer of duct tape. This effectively removes the unsightly mess.

Huh? they want to what? Well, why didn't they say so?

Ahem, remember that adage about the tool box? All you need is Duck Tape, WD-40, and a hammer? WD-40 actually is a pretty good way to remove the adhesive from Duck Tape. (If it is supposed to move, use WD-40. Remember? D'oh) Rubbing alcohol is also effective. There is also a special adhesive remover available from the makers of Duck Tape that works very good on everything I ever tried it on, and is safe for most surfaces, including cloth, though I would test it first to be sure before using it on something I cared about.

As for using it in a scene, I would recommend 3M's Performance Plus Duct Tape. It actually leaves almost no adhesive on any surface, including skin, and if it does the adhesive easily comes off with a citrus based cleaner.

I find that Duct Tape is actually excellent for use as an impromptu bondage device, though, as Wolfscout said, there is a danger of an allergic reaction. Play safe and test first.

    Have fun.

LOL, i feel for your sister, really i do! i perform the Rocky Horror Picture Show and it's common for our Columbia's to duct tape themselves in a similiar fashion since about half way through the show, they're lifted into a semi verticle position (head first), getting the adhesive off is a real bitch!

Maybe you could just use the duct tape as a substitute for rope but have the person wear clothes that they dont really care about. Buy some cheap clothes from a thrift store. That could make things interesting.
Keeps the tape off the skin, and you dont ruin perfectly good clothing! Double win in my book.

I carry a roll of pink ducktape with me when I go to play.

It either embarrasses or it excites. Either reaction is excellent.

I do have green restraints. Equine wraps, rope.

I had the horrifying experience of duct tape on my breasts. I was tied up and blindfolded and my partner at the time thought it would be a good idea. A lost layer of skin later... yeaaah. Needless to say that never happened again.

I really truly would advise against using it. I've also been told by my father (though as a child, after sis and i thought it funny to tape over our mouths) that the adhesive side can actually make you very sick, especially if you were to say lick it. How true this is, I couldn't say, but it certainly has made me think twice about it.

Not too long ago, I was running late for an appointment and accidentally (I'd be dumb to do it intentionally) ripped the pocket on my dress.

I remembered hearing that runway models used duct tape all the time for emergency repairs on designer originals. Or to tuck in or hem up where needed.

Voila! Within seconds the pocket was neatly repaired and I wouldn't have been late for my appointment, except the radiator hose on the car burst.

Voila! Wrapped it in duct tape.

Made it to the appointment, but half an hour late, and the person I was meeting just wouldn't let my tardiness rest. blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

Voila! Duct tape works really well at shutting someone up.

LMAO.. I used duct tape to shut up a screaming injured fella one time out of necessity.
it was shut him up or i was going to leave his ass there. I mean seriously...

When the Medics finally arrived... and did their thing... then they removed the tape.. he was more scared of more tape than the injury he was screaming over. lmao.

I had duct tape used on my wrists and lower arms once and I got a bad rash from it, never used it or let anyone use it on me since.
