As a general rule diseases don't tend to spread between species. Doggy (or whatever) germs would have a hard time living in people and vice versa. Though the exchange of fluids during sex would be an excelent means of transmition.
I just don't think there has been a lot of research on the matter.

I've actually had a discussion about this with a veterinarian friend who thought there was not much risk of disease transmission. There aren't any transmissible venereal diseases that cross from canine to human. Some basic hygiene measures would help reduce risks of bacterial infection.

I would not presume to speak for all men, and I'm too much of a (gentleman?) to torture and tell so allow me to delve into the world of the hypothetical.
