    I recognise the first one as a "scoobiedoo" as it's called here... (Netherlands)

    The middle one I don't know an official name for but I call it a half square knot. In the regular square knot you go left-over-right then right-over-left. This knot is just left-over-right continuously.

    Hmmm...if memory serves me right I believe...

    1 = square knot
    2 = half knot twist
    3 = lark's head knot

    My mother was a huge macrame nut back in the day and she used these knot patterns all the time. Hopefully, I remembered them correctly.
    One kiss, and each spot of soreness - each little tender contusion - was transformed. Instead of pain, each bruise was filled with pleasure. It was as if . . . as if a clitoris sprang up in the place of every bruise, and when he kissed me I climaxed, again and again." -- The Door to December by Dean Koontz

    These are all variations of a daisy chain using different knots, which pixie has identified. A daisy chain is often used as a quick and dirty way of making a rope shorter.
