    Life and Death

    Life
    It frightens me
    But I embrace it
    And then let it go
Frightened it might not feel the same
    Then it holds my hand
Until I have the courage again
    Death
    It frightens me
    When will it come again?
    So many questions to ask
Who will it take from me
    this time
I want to grab hold of it
    Crush it between my hands
    But it is ellusive
    A cool breeze
    It touches me
But I cannot knock it down

    gladgirl,

Another great poem. I really liked this part:

    "So many questions to ask
Who will it take from me
    this time"

Those line breaks were incredibly effective, hit hard. I really, really enjoyed this one. The conflict in the speaker is very easy to relate to.

*hugs* can't wait to read more!

I am truly impressed with the quality of your poetry, when are we going to see a contribution to the contests?

I liked it too mostly because of the theme and besides for the realist point of view in it. There are indeed much more questions than answers. Thinking about death is indeed frightening and there is even a question hidden in this fear: why do we fear death? The burden of being comes clearly into consciousness only when one tries to understand it`s lack.
