RECESSIONAL

She walks the night
this Goddess
naked
fearless
for night
is Her realm
and She
night's empress

She seems formed from marble
in the cold, worshipful moonlight
barely aware
vaguely amused
that any who glimpse Her
abandon a lifetime's faith
to trot at Her heels
lapping up
the rain
that pools
in Her footprints

such adoration is but Her due
and you
make profound obeisance
join Her stately procession
become Her newest acolyte
and notice not
when your heartbeat
slows
to match
Her
stride...
