but still I wonder

Closed and distant with a deafening silence.

Spoiled and careless, you crept in

with subconscious permission

without fight.

Complexities of life weigh down

steering careless moments to the darkness

back to their place of birth.


It feels cold and lonely without them

the warmth of their life strangled and choked by the black.

My heart greives for them, as though they were dead.

Lifeless moments spin into hours of sad contemplation.

An intermission of glitter breaks the spell

The Angel arrives

restoring the careless smile.

But the black creeps around gathering it's grip

asphixiation it's goal.


Rousing the strength to resist, to fight

perhaps I should run, give up the crusade.

Save my soul for myself.

Would you notice, or even care?

Is it even fair to ask?

Will it ever be?

A life on hold, pinned to a dream.


There is still heat in those moments

despite their frayed edges and blurred images.

Subdued hope lingers too.

Romantic notions seem filled with danger

doubting the depth and sincerity of words.
