I wrote this a few years ago.. found it again as it has new meaning and presence now.

Do you know?

Do you know?
Do you care?
Am I even a passing thought
when I'm not there?

You hover in my mind
never straying very far.
Always within reach and
yet worlds away.

Your essence lingers in my
head , like waves on the beach.
Crashing against my very soul.
Tugging at my heart.

For all I do, wish I could do more
limited I am only by the lack of knowing,
no limits can be placed upon my
desire to make you happy.

Need , want , and desire
How they do so seem to control
the mind becomes weak
When they are so strong.

My reward is seeing you happy and content.
no matter the cost to me.
that is reward enough for what I do
which is small .
