    Shaving, waxing advice needed

I am not sure if this is where this needs to go, I hope it is. I also searched to see if there was already a thread and didn't find one. I want to see if I can get some input on both shaving and waxing your pubic area. I have recently tried waxing and now am shaving. What do you find is the best product for waxing? How do you prevent bumps or not shaving to wear it is smooth enough? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there smokes-slut and welcome to the forums.

I personally wax and have done so for years. Right now I am using a product by Andrea, which is the Brazilian wax kit. It does not need any strips and grabs even very short hairs. I really like it. Follow the directions on the package and you can't go wrong.

As for shaving you need to make sure that you use a brand new razor (and get good ones not those crappy single blade cheapies). The reason for a sharp new blade is so that you do not contaminate the area with any bacteria and skin under a used razor and wind up with more little bumps ect.I like to make sure that I have soaked in a hot tub or shower for a few min to soften the hair. With a layer of hot water between your skin and the lather, the blade skims the surface instead of dragging on it, which is the main cause of irritation, redness, and “shave bumps”. Use shaving cream. Steal his or buy your own it does make a big difference and start to shave in the direction of the hair growth. If you shave against the hair growth to get it smoother you take the chance of ingrown hairs after.

I still say nothing beats waxing. You get less irritating stubble after, it lasts for much longer than shaving, a week or so not next day, and if you want to touch up some stray hairs in-between waxing with shaving it is easy enough to do.

I always exfoliate my skin in that area for several days after (gently it’s a sensitive area) so not to get ingrown hairs. As for the bumps after I find that for me is mostly a shaving problem but I use a product called bikini zone right after shaving or waxing and that works well to help stop it. I always use a good body lotion on the area after too.

Look into salons in your area that do Brazilian waxing if you don’t feel like contorting yourself into a pretzel to do it. It may be worth going to a salon at least once to learn the tricks of the trade so to speak. Once you try waxing and feel how smooth and sexy it feels after and for days after I bet you never shave again.

I agree with the waxing, I can go a month between appointments. I go to a place which does a sugering process which they say doesn't hurt as much as the wax but I haven't ever waxed before so I can't say either way.

Shaving takes too long and I was repeating the process every couple of days to stay smooth... I wouldn't even begin to talk about the difference in regards to bumps and irritation.

Thank you. I think I need to try the product you suggested for waxing. I tried a product but it was not a good experience. I use a product called bikini zone and it has helped. I think I was shaving in the wrong way. I would love to do the procedure for removing hair. Thank you for esponding and your advice.

If you're a bit of a pain-slut... or your master just wants to play, you can always tweeze out the hair.

I think I will stick to waxing. The pain may be pleasurable but many more fun things that could be done in the time it would take. :
