before the storm
old trees groaned
like kings of bygone year
crowned in witch's hair

rocking swaying
under gray heavan
hearld her children
rain doth come

leaves cast round
the first few drops
old wood gathers ground
battle wrath once more

look thee clear
hallowed maid undone
wonder at her strength
maelstroms mark upon her

wind builds up
those oaken lords
arms raised with ardor dance
before her fury wrought

now after lays the glen
hallowed ones still hold
enshrined in faithful mantle
proudly she doth bare

her scars witness true
so renew thyself
the cup drained yet naught
the roots of life hold deep

for we also will weather
the storm inside
with every
season's passage
grow strong anew

and thrive
