I don't know where to ask this, but. . . .
How do you know how long to leave on nipple clamps or cit, lip? Whatever?
Too long can do damage and not long enough is not long enough.

I've read not more than half an hour. But I can't remember the source, so I'd wait for more input.
I know with nipples, it's best not to leave them on for longer than half an hour. However, you can take them off for a minute or so for the circulation to get back, then put them on again. I suppose you can continue doing that pretty much indefinitely, although I've not tried longer than 3 hours myself. That depends on the tightness etc of the clamps you are using, of course.
20 min is supposed to be the limit . if u take them off the pain is worse than when there on and if you put them back on it will hurt a lot more
Yep, I heard 15 - 20 minutes for 'proper clamps'. Not sure about lighter things like lcothes pegs but I would follow the same rule.
You can, however, take them off, massage some blood back into the nipples and put them on again.
The important thing is to not stop the circulation to the area clamped for too long otherwise you risk ischeamia (tissue injury caused by lack of oxygen). paramedics/firefighters use the 15 minute rule to decide whether or not to release someone from fallen rubble (if it is less than 15 minutes then the tissue will be ok so you get them out asap, if it is more than 15 minutes do nothing until a more qualified person can look at them as removing the restricting object could kill them).
If the nipples change colour to anything other than red or white take the clamps off imediately no matter how long they have been on.
ok I do not keep anything on nipples clit or outer libra for more than 30 mins with 15 mins in bettween

they say around 15 mins or so although i think many people wear them much longer after a while,as with anything build it up slowly,
when you start getting uncomfortable remove them... as has been pointed out the most painful part is when they come off, clothes pins are not as painful as most types of clamps although some of the firmer wooden ones with the metal springs grip tightly.
the tweezer style clamps are gentler, the clover clamps having a bit more bite.
start with your nipples rather than genitals would be my suggestion,i wouldnt attach weights to begin with either.
