Gor Books
I'm trying to find the Gor series without paying a ton of money in shipping. I know they are often posted on Ebay, but I don't have paypal. I can't get paypal either, due to the type of account I have.
What my question here is... Does anyone know where I can find them in one place so I don't pay 3 times the value in shipping buying them one at a time?

Check used book stores in your area its amazing what you can find in them, also try thrift stores you might have to spend some time going threw there selection but it can be worth it. You might have to hunt them down one at a time that way but you will save a lot of money.

I've tried every used book store within a reasonable driving distance.

They are often in the fantasy section of local libraries so have a look in there. And used book shops are a great resource for anything out of print or rare just be prepared to browse a lot before you find them.
And some ebay sellers are happy to allow you to pay by other means such as credit card or cheque so long as the money arrives. Check the payment details on the bottom of the bid info to see what they will accept and even if they don't explicitly state they will take a cheque, maybe send them a message to ask if they will. If it is a certain sale they may well do.

I've tried with several sellers on ebay who had more than one book in a lot, and they have all said no that they will only take paypal. And my library doesn't have them, I looked there first. *grins* I don't buy books if I can borrow them!

Well try thrift stores and talk to the used book store people tell them what you are looking for, some places will put you on a "wait list" and if the books come in they will notify you.

Have you tried checking the inter-library loan services or Amazon? I just checked, and they do have copies for sale and their shipping isn't horrendous.

Agreed the shipping isn't bad. I'm just being cheap and wanted to get as many as I could in one spot. Sadly I found a ton on Amazon, however they were all from different sellers and I'd have to pay separate shipping for each one. Which would actually come out to much more than just buying them new.
As for the thrift stores, I gave that a small shot. But, all of them around here are Christian owned and they are very selective in what books they will sell. Usually juvenile fiction. Some 'lovely' ladies from the church had a fit about Harry Potter books being sold. So they are much more careful about what they have.
I think my best option is to try and find them a couple at a time when I can. Thanks for all the help everyone.

i think your only chance is in the charity shops and second-hand shops. libraries in the uk dont have them, "censored from above". cant get them in mainstream bookshops any more either.

They have actually be re released with new covers and all that. Kinda pretty actually. They are sold in many of the book stores here, just never all together and they cost far more than I'm willing to pay. Again, I'm cheap.

The Gorean Voice at http://www.pantheus.com/TGV.shtml has a button marked "Need Books?" that takes you to their Gor books for sale site. I am hopeful that prices and a way to pay them will work for you. I wish you well.

Banned in the UK? Hmmm... weren't when I was borrowing them but then this was many years ago. Presumably some librarians have actually read them now rather than just made assumptions based on the rubrik :)

We have them all for order from Barnes and Noble Bookstores sweetie.
Just look on line at our web site.
