I would hope a slave would not submit to just anyone........

This is how I see it:
Regardless of what title you wish to use.
First you are free and curious and only really play at being a slave girl, eventually even submitting on occasion to the will of another or many as the whim may strike .
Then later on you start to actually feel as if it is right for you to be submissive and seek it out craving the feeling it gives and submit in more and more ways to a specific individuals will if you are lucky mabey even falling deeply in love and this is where most of us stop.
Rarely but it can happen,
if the strength of the bond between a Dominant and his submissive is great enough (strength of character etc not physical) and the, respect, trust and devotion is tempered by disipline and a love that know no bounds
....you start to submit to yourself as well as your Master, any conflict you struggled with about your submission dies and what you thought was love before becomes stronger anything eaither of you could ever imagine or describe.
It is then you learn what true joy lays in utter surrender.
It is then that you wake up a slave at the feet of your Owner.
the way i see things is i wont just submit to someone... i need to believe they are worthy of being my Dom... but that may just be because im a switch...
not sure if this makes any sense, but to me it is like this: i know beyond a shadow of a doubt that i'm submissive with heart, soul and body. If and when i find my Master.. i will be his slave.. no doubt. But until that day, i will be a happy submissive, searching and yearning to be the slave i want to be.
Nothing is for free, not even a slave.
And to own a slave, a Dom has to earn her/him. That's the natural way. Earning a slave includes, earning the respect, trust and willingness to submit freely.
In general, being a human we respect everybody, that doesn't mean respect comes unearned. The qualities and character of a person brings about the respect He deserves. Same is the case with trust and the wilingness to serve that person.
There is no other way around for the non-coercive bdsm relation.
For a coerced a forced relation, well it can not be said a bdsm relation, it would rather be called as a case of exploitation, a felony.
Submission is a treasure to be given by a sub to a deserving Dom.
It is not an artifact to be plundered by any passing Visigoth, Hun or Vandal.
You choose your master, negotiate what type of slave you will be.

Life is all about choices. A submissive person always chooses whom to serve. She/he can choose to serve any master that comes along or choose just one to serve. If the master she/he chooses to serve has her/him serve another or others, she/he is still choosing whether to serve or not. This isn't actual slavery, which is illegal in most (all?) countries. BDSM slavery is consentual and a fantasy brought to life, so it's what you make of it. Choose wisely.

I see the 2 being used interchangeably perhaps way too often.
But to me personnaly, submission is more a state of mind and does not necessarily have anything to do with bdsm practices. A true submissive will defer in business, traffic, walking, etc.
Slavery is both a mental and physical state where the person submits in total to his / her owner.
Slavery is an all encompassing life style, submission is perhaps at times a game played by one for sexual and mental gratification.
My opinions and beliefs only, no harm or benefit in agreeing or disagreeing.
Slave or sub, the choice is still yours. A good Master would not want the first slave that would mindlessly submit to him, but the one that chose him for a specific reason. There needs to be trust and connection between a Master and his slave for the relationship to grow.
You hare the responsibilty as the slave to be certain that the Master you are with is one that you respect, trust and want to grow in your submission and obedience with.
Master's are not like buses.. you can't just take the next one that comes along. That is unwise, unsafe and unfair to the Master.
You find the right one, and the desire to be his and be completely submissive will come along with that connection. You choose the wrong one, and you will be fight it and him.
I was originally friends with my Master. After a while we got to know each other and he respected me more than anyone (including those in my family).
I am a natural submissive (not sure if people can be or not but thats what it feels like to me.) I find it easy to please others than myself. Especially when it came to my Master.
So after we reached the level of boyfriend/girlfriend that's when I chose serve him, I wanted to make him happy because he makes me happy. So I feel that being submissive to him, makes both of us happy. Which to me is the main thing.
It's a deep bond we share and are happy. Even if we didn't enter the community, I'd still be his in all aspects.

depends on how people take the definition of slave, there are to types in the real world as far as i know, the ones that submit to the one that they would wish to serve and are only shared with others if thats whats agreed upon(this ones the legal one), or the second one the ones that are forced to serve anyone that just happens buy in hope that they find thier freedom sometime later. (illegal one), now as we all would hope that they are of the former. in this denuseri is correct, it's a process. and it's mostly done out of respect, the latter is mostly done out of fear, and in this lifeime i would drather be respected than feared.
I think that a sub must have some attraction to their master and vice versa. I could not control a sub who does not attract me
Imho, i think that there is no one particular thing that makes a slave. As denuseri said, it comes in small realizations. You need to be a good submissive to be a better slave. Never submit to just any Master. Get to know them first. Its ok to experiment and play, but dont become a doormat and submit to any/everyone. If being a slave is right for you it will come naturally with the right Master. You will want Him/Her to own you with all of you heart. Just my thoughts of course.
Not unless you are weakened somehow. A Slave is a strong person. Not unless you are in Frenzy Stage. Need can sometimes be overwhelming, a bit. For some quite so. Choosing while in Frenzy is a mistake, a miss-take, most timesQuote:
