The Carousel
Up, Down, Up, Down,
The ride has begun.
Up, Down, Up, Down,
Wow, isn't this fun.
Up, Down, Up, Down,
Ok, that's enough.
I'm ready to get off.
Up, Down, Up, Down,
This isn't so fun anymore.
I see the beaming faces of the crowd.
They know not of my displeasure,
Accepting the gilded exterior,
They fail to prod the surface.
STOP THE WORLD, I WANNA GET OFF!!!
They laugh: pointing, waving, snapping photos.
I'm screaming now, but my cries are being suffocated
By the deliberate howl of the pipe organs.
"Look at her. She's so LUCKY! I wish I could have that life,"
They think to themselves as they cock their heads and long dreamily.
She's spinning faster now
Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down
She despairingly tries to jump off but she's hooked.
She wants nothing more than to give up.
She buries her head in her arms and cries,
Cries right down to her core.

Your work is so different than what I would normally enjoy but there's so much feeling in it that it's addictive.
Thank you
